Case studies

We're shipping our first production run, so instead of making up numbers, this page does two things. It shows how the cards get used in different kinds of businesses, and it's where we'll share real, named results as our first customers send them in.

Three Australian businesses are already using the cards: Corner Boxing Co, Eco Coffuire and Ocean's 24. You can read what they said in their own words on the home page.

Every case study here will use the business's real name, with their permission, in their words. If a result is on this page, a real business gave it to us.

Cafés and takeaway

The moment: the customer is standing at the till, coffee in hand, waiting for the card machine.

The setup: one plaque beside the EFTPOS machine, angled toward the customer. Mini cards go in the aprons of whoever's on the floor for table service.

Why it works: the ten seconds while a payment goes through is the one moment in the day when a happy customer is standing still with their phone out.

Barbers, salons and beauty

The moment: the chat at the end of the appointment, before they get out of the chair.

The setup: a plaque at the front desk, plus a mini card at each station so the person who did the work can hand it over themselves.

Why it works: the review is about a specific person, and that person is the one asking. Handing over a card is a much smaller ask than saying the words.

Trades and mobile services

The moment: standing in the driveway at the end of the job, invoice in hand.

The setup: mini cards only. One in the ute, one in the toolbag, one in your wallet. There's no counter for a plaque.

Why it works: trades have some of the happiest customers and the fewest reviews, mostly because there's no natural moment to ask. A card in the hand creates one.

Clinics, allied health and consulting rooms

The moment: at reception, while the next appointment is being booked.

The setup: a plaque on the reception desk. Nothing in the treatment room, so the ask stays out of the clinical space.

Why it works: reception is already a pause, and the person behind the desk isn't the one being reviewed, so the ask feels less awkward.

Gyms and studios

The moment: straight after a class, when people are still talking about it.

The setup: a plaque at the front desk and a second one by the door people leave through.

Why it works: a class finishes with thirty people in a good mood in the same room. That's the best sixty seconds a gym gets all day.

Markets and pop-ups

The moment: handing over the goods at the stall.

The setup: one plaque on the trestle table. It needs no power, so it works anywhere.

Why it works: a market customer might never find you online again. Catching the review while they're in front of you is your one chance.

Where it doesn't work

We'd rather tell you this now than sell you something that ends up in a drawer. If your customers never stand in front of you, like online-only shops, wholesale, or work delivered entirely online, a card on the counter has nothing to do. Ask us and we'll give you a straight answer.
